Annapurna Base Camp Trek starts with an exciting drive to scenic and popular touristic destination at Pokhara, a beautiful valley blessed with natural surroundings of high hills and mountains with serene Phewa and Begnas Lakes. Our adventure then heads towards mid hills Ghorepani Poon Hill, exploring traditional farm villages of Gurung tribe of people with Buddhist culture and custom and then heading into lovely forest and gorge of Modi River to reach a wide plateau around Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp.

At Annapurna base camp marvel the spectacular views from the highest spot of the trek at 4,130 m overlooking Annapurna I great bulk at 8,091 m high with series of satellite peaks A II – A III – A IV, Gangapurna- Annapurna South, Huin Chuli, Tent and Fluted Peak includes climbed virgin Machhapuchare ‘Fish Tail peak’.

Our return walk leads downhill back into the forested area and beyond towards warmer areas to reach Pokhara where this fantastic Annapurna Base Camp Trek concludes, after an overwhelming and enjoyable time in the hills and valleys of massive Annapurna Himal.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with a sightseeing tour and trek preparations.
Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara 820m (30 mins flight and 6 hrs drive)
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m and trek to Ghandruk village 1,760m.
Day 05: Trek to Chomrong 1,950m – 06 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m – 06 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,720m – 06 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,095 m – 04 hrs.
Day 09: Trek to Bamboo – 06 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to Jhinudanda with hot spring 1,700m – 05 hours.
Day 11: Trek to Potana 1,900 m – 05 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Kande 1,460m and drive to Pokhara.
Day 13: Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.
Day 14: International departure homeward bound.





Details Itinerary

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu after your international flight.
On arrival in Kathmandu received by Nepal Holiday Organizer staff and guide for short drive to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city, where you will join with other members of Annapurna Base Camp Trek, our guide or group leader will brief with information regarding trekking - hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, includes welcome dinner in a nice and typical Nepali restaurant with culture programs.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
The morning after breakfast our tour guide will receive you for a sightseeing tour around interesting part of Kathmandu, as Kathmandu city a blend of modernization and old lively cultures where you can witness medieval period villages and way of life of the locals as it was for past hundreds of years. Kathmandu valley steeped with ancient history-old traditions full of world heritage sites of Buddhism and Hinduism temples/monasteries.

After an interesting tour afternoon free at leisure preparation for Annapurna Base Camp trekking. 

Day 03: Drive on tourist bus to Pokhara (8, 20m | 2,700ft) 200km - 06hrs.
Annapurna Base Camp trek starts with an interesting and exciting overland drive on Nepal’s busy highway to reach scenic Pokhara, the journey leads past farm villages and towns with views of mountains. Drive finally reaches Pokhara and then transfer to your hotel near the pristine and beautiful Phewa Lake where most of the nice hotels are located. 

(option by air takes 30 minutes of scenic flight to Pokhara with alluring views of mountains and landscapes)

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (trek point) with 4 hrs trek to Ghandruk village 1,760 m.
After breakfast few hour drive to Nayapul unto Bhirethati by the river Modi, from here walk begins through nice villages coming across trekkers, mule and donkey trains, our route leads to farm areas and villages to reach Ghandruk villages, on reaching Ghandruk a large village of Gurung mid hills people, famous as Gorkha soldiers in foreign countries UK-India and Singapore enlisted as soldiers, besides army services are traditional farmers, Sheppard’s interwoven with Buddhist and ancient Bon religion and culture.

Ghandruk one of the largest village around Annapurna area here in the comfort of a nice cozy lodge after a good day walks of few hours.

Day 05: Trek to Chomrong 1,950m - 06 hours.
Another beautiful view from Ghandruk after a wonderful morning, walk leads to a descend to Kimrong valley in the cool shade of a forest, after reaching Gurjong village an uphill climb for another hour from here all the way to the top of Chomrong village, a short downhill walk to the overnight stop at Chomrong village, this is the last permanent Gurung village and the gateway to Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp trekking.

Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,130m via Bamboo 2,050m - 06 hours.
After Chomrong walk downhill over terraced farm fields to reach at Chomrong river, after crossing the bridge an uphill climb to Sinuwadanda a small place with few lodges offering  views of the surrounding landscapes and rolling green hills, from this place walking through cool dense forest till a place called Bamboo is reached, located by the Modi River in the middle of bamboo, rhododendron and oaks forest. From here an hour walk on the gradual up trail to Dovan for an overnight stop, situated in the middle of forest Modi River gorge.

Day 07:  Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,720m via Deurali - 06 hrs.
From here on air gets cooler as the walk enters into Annapurna Sanctuary and Base Camp, walk leads on the gradual winding path with gentle ups to Himalaya Hotel near the Hinko Cave, right beneath of Hiunchuli peak. From here walking on the glacier and moraine in the old avalanche area, after crossing a small bridge near at Deurali the last lodge before Machhapuchare Base Camp, from here further vegetation and tree lines disappear with only high alpine bushes and shrubs, our route climbs following the Modi river upstream, the walk gets pleasant in some places than with steep up reaching at Machhapuchare Base Camp for overnight stay. This place with four lodges located on the bottom of Mt. Machhapuchare North Face, from here onwards within the Annapurna Sanctuary

Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130m - 04 hours.
With wonderful morning views of Annapurna range of peaks, a short walk to base camp reaching higher with stunning views of Annapurna peaks that circles the sanctuary facing Annapurna I. After a good scenic walk reaching at Annapurna Base Camp a magnificent spot with about three large lodges at present, offering tremendous awesome scenery of snow-capped peaks that encircles around this lovely spot at base camp, afternoon at leisure to enjoy the mountain views.

Day 09:  Trek to Bamboo 2,050 m - 06 hours.
After a wonderful time at Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary, morning on downhill all the way to Deurali, then with few ups and downs with a gradual winding trail in the serene forest and back to the tree lines to Bamboo for the overnight stay.

Day 10: Trek to Jhinudanda 1,700m via Chomrong 06 hours.
From here a short steep up to KhuldiGhar, then on the winding downhill path through the dense forest to Sinuwadanda, from here walk descends to Chomrong Khola. After the bridge an uphill walk for less than an hour reaching at Chomrong village for rest stop or lunch, after Chomrong with another up for half hour to the top of Chomrong ridge, then our route descends to Jhinudanda,  for overnight stay, this place offers refreshing hot springs just 20 minutes’ walk downhill near Modi river.

Day 11: Trek to Potana 1,900 m via Landruk - 06 hrs.
After refreshing time at Jhinu walk downhill towards Modi River, after crossing a long suspension bridge a pleasant walk brings you at Landruk another large Gurung village.

From here on winding trails with few short and ups and down to reach Tolka village and then hour climb to reach at Deurali offering views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Huinchuli, and Mt. Machhapuchare, from Deurali downhill walk to Potana village for last overnight stop on high hills of Annapurna.

Day 12: Walk to Phedi 860 m via Dhampus and drive to Pokhara.
Morning with fantastic views of peaks, last day walk continues into a cool forest with downhill to Thulo Kharka also called Australian Camp, located on large meadows with parallel views of Annapurna and Manaslu range of mountains.

Our final trek leads downhill to the road head at Phedi for the drive back at picturesque Pokhara by the serene Phewa Lake after an hour of exciting drive.

Day 13: Drive back to Kathmandu by tourist bus transfer to hotel.
Enjoying time in lovely Pokhara with glorious views, morning depart for Kathmandu with an interesting overland drive to Kathmandu after a grand time around Annapurna Base Camp trek within scenic Sanctuary, on reaching Kathmandu afternoon free for individual activities and shopping souvenirs.

(By air 30 minutes of scenic flight from Pokhara to Kathmandu)

Day 14: International departure for home ward bound.
As per your flight time, Nepal Holiday Organizer guide and staff transfer you to the airport after a memorable and enjoyable time in Nepal, a country of Himalayan wonders.
