Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek leads to the highest of above 3,210 meters with glamorous panorama views of world highest mountains Mt. Dhaulagiri, Annapurna range, Manaslu range, Nilgiri,  and majestic Machhapuchare ‘Fish Tail’ peaks. This is one of the most popular trekking trail in Nepal because there is easy transportation access and most beautiful views within hiking time as well.

Walk leads from Pokhara to the mid hills past traditional farm villages of Gurung and Poon Magar people the main tribe of Annapurna Himalaya and famous as Gorkha Soldiers in foreign countries like UK, India, and Singapore. As the trek progress leading you into beautiful areas of tall rhododendron and magnolia tree lines, where in spring and summer the whole place turns into natural garden when wild-flowers are in full bloom.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01:   Arrive in Kathmandu 1,315m and transfer o hotel.
Day 02:  In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03:  Drive to Pokhara 820m – 06 hrs journey.
Day 04:  Drive to Nayapul 1,100m and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,450m -04 hrs.
Day 05:  Trek to Ghorepani 2,800m – 05 hrs.
Day 06:  Morning hike to Poon-Hill 3,210 m and trek to Tadapani 2,640m – 05 hrs.
Day 07:  Trek to Ghandruk 1,951m – 04 hrs.
Day 08:  Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara.
Day 09:  Drive or fly back to Kathmandu afternoon free at leisure.
Day 10:  International departure homeward bound.

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu after your international flight.
On arrival in Kathmandu received by Nepal Holiday Organizer staff and guide for short drive to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city, where you will join with other members of Ghorepani & Poon Hill Trekking, where our guide will brief with information regarding trekking - hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, includes welcome dinner in a nice and typical Nepali restaurant with culture programs.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Morning after breakfast our tour guide will receive you for sightseeing tour around interesting part of Kathmandu, as Kathmandu city a blend of modernization and old lively cultures where you can witness medieval period villages and way of life of the locals as it was for past hundreds of years. Kathmandu valley steeped with ancient history-old traditions full of world heritage sites of Buddhism and Hinduism temples / monasteries. After an interesting tour afternoon free at leisure preparation for Ghorepani & Poon Hill Trekking.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 860m - 06 hrs journey.
Morning an interesting drive on the main Kathmandu-Pokhara highway overlooking snow capped mountain views in the contrast of rolling green hills and valleys, journey leads through many towns and villages following the glacial river Trisuli till to the town of Mugling where the road to Pokhara, on leaving Mugling town heading towards west to Pokhara on reaching Pokhara transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure with short walk around Phewa Lake side.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul 1,100m and trek to Tirkhedhunga 1,450m -04 hrs.
From Pokhara drive into mid hills with zig-zag road all the way to Naudanda, then descends to Nayapul with views of Annapurna South, Fish tail, green hills, terraces and villages.
From Nayapul our walk begins to reach at Tirkhedhunga with beautiful views of waterfalls as trail leads uphill at Tirkhedhunga village for overnight stop.

Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani (2,800m) overnight in lodge - 06 hrs.
Morning walk starts with a climb on series of stone steps for an hour or more to reach at Ulleri village, a moderate size Poon Magar village with typical traditional Nepalese style slated roofs built of mud / stones.

From here walk leads to a slow climb into pristine and cool rhododendron, pine forest area to reach Ghorepani village, located on a high ridge within beautiful rhododendron trees.

This village populated by Poon people of Magar tribe, famous and popular spot for Poon Hill view top which is an hour hike with a climb.

Day 06: Hike to Poon Hill and trek to Tadapani (2,640m) - 05 hrs.
Early before sunrise hike to the top at Poon Hill to catch the striking sunrise over range of Himalayan peaks of world 7th highest Dhaulagiri-10th highest Annapurna with range of peaks includes world 8th highest Manaslu with towering Machhapuchare peak “Fish Tail”.

After an enjoyable and exciting time with eye catching views from Poon Hill, head back to Ghorepani and continue uphill walk for an hour and then downhill into a gorge through cool forest to reach at Tadapani for overnight stop.

Day 07: Trek to Ghandruk 1,940 m - 04 hrs.
Morning after super views of Annapurna with Fish Tail peak, walk leads through lovely forest and then downhill on winding path to Ghandruk village for lunch with views of Annapurna South, Huinchuli and towering Mt. Machhapuchare “Fish Tail” Ghandruk a large Gurung village, famous as Gorkha soldiers in UK and Indian armies, besides as gallant soldiers they are farmers and Sheppard’s of Tibetan Buddhist religion and origin.

Day 08: Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara.
After a pleasant time at Ghandruk village, last day walk leads downhill on stone steps reaching at Syali-bazaar near Modi River, from here on warmer farm areas reaching at Bhirethati lovely village, and then crossing a bridge a short walk to Nayapul, where this wonderful Ghorepani & Pun Hill trekking complete with few hour drive to picturesque Pokhara for overnight stop by the serene Phewa Lake.

Day 09: Morning drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.
After an enjoyable and great moment on Ghorepani and Poon Hill trekking return drive back to Kathmandu on the same route past Pokhara and Damuli following Trisuli River for some times and then back at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 10: International departure for homeward bound.
After a most memorable experience on Ghorepani & Poon Hill Trekking with fabulous views of Annapurna Himalaya, our staff transfers you to the airport for your final departure homeward bound.
