Beginning our adventure with a drive from Kathmandu heading north to reach at Rasuwa district at Dhunche town and Syabrubesi village where Langtang & Gosainkund Trekking starts heading further north towards central Himalaya around picturesque Langtang valley at Kyanjin Gompa after walking past Lama Hotel and Langtang village within enchanting forest where rare and elusive Red Panda are found.

After a great enjoyable time at high Langtang valley with sweeping views of Langtang and Dorji Lakpa and range of adjoining peaks, our adventure continues heading towards holy glacial pond of Gosainkund, where in monsoon time of August great numbers of Hindu pilgrims floods the place for a holy dip in the icy pond for Nirvana and blessing.

Walk leads to cross a high pass of Gosainkund and Laurabinaya-la to reach the high ridges of Helambu and north of Kathmandu valley, following the scenic trail past nice villages of Kutumsang and Chisapani and concluding this awesome and marvelous Langtang & Gosainkund Trekking at the eastern rim of Kathmandu valley a short drive brings you back to your hotel in Kathmandu.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu 1,315m and transfer o hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Trisuli and Dhunche town 1,950 – 06 hrs.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,350 m – 06 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3, 307m – 05 hrs.
Day 06:  Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,749m – 04 hours.
Day 07:  Rest-Day for acclimatization at leisure for hike around.
Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,350m 6-7 hours walk.
Day 09: Trek to Upper Syabru village 2,118m – 06 hours walk.
Day 10: Trek to Singh Gompa 3,254 m or Chandanbari -05 hrs.
Day 11: Trek to Gosainkund 4,381m/14,375ft -05 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Ghopte Odar 3,566m via Gosainkund or Laurabina-La 4,609 m /15,100ft.
Day 13: Trek to Kutumsang 2,445m – 06 hrs.

Day 15: Trek to Chisapani 2,195m – 05 hours.
Day 16: Walk to Sundarijal 1,380m an hour drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 17: In Kathmandu free day at leisure.

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu after your international flight.
On arrival in Kathmandu received by Nepal Holiday Organizer staff and guide for short drive to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city, where you will join with other members of Langtang & Gosainkund trekking, where our guide will brief with information regarding trekking - hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, includes welcome dinner in a nice and typical Nepali restaurant with culture programs.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Morning after breakfast our tour guide will receive you for sightseeing tour around interesting part of Kathmandu, as Kathmandu city a blend of modernization and old lively cultures where you can witness medieval period villages and way of life of the locals as it was for past hundreds of years. Kathmandu valley steeped with ancient history-old traditions full of world heritage sites of Buddhism and Hinduism temples / monasteries. After an interesting tour afternoon free at leisure preparation for Langtang & Gosainkund Trekking.

Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,470 m via Trisuli and Dhunche town 1,950 - 06 hrs.
Langtang & Gosainkund Trekking starts with an early morning drive to Syabrubesi the trekking point Langtang & Gosainkund trekking around Langtang Himal region, after warm Trisuli Bazaar reaching a cooler areas at Dhunche the headquarter town of Rasuwa and Langtang areas.

After Dhunche continue drive further on winding downhill road to Syabrubesi village for overnight stop, a nice Tamang village located on the road side of other Langtang destination and to Tibet border of Kyrong.

Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel 2,200m - 06 hrs.
The trek from Syabrubesi is quite pleasant with few up climbs for a while but the rest of the walk is gradual on the winding trail through the terraced farm fields and villages, as the trail descends and joins the path coming from upper Syabru at the Riverside Lodge near the place of Bamboo, the trek from here leads to cool forest in the gorge following the torrent glacial river Trisuli upstream, the walk is more or less an uphill climb in the cool shade of rhododendron and oaks forest after six hours walk reaching a small clearing at Lama-Hotel.

Day 05: Trek to Langtang village 3, 307m - 05 hrs.
From this place few hours walk to Ghore-Tabela for lunch stop in the midst of a lovely forest of pines, hemlocks and rhododendron from here onwards you can feel the altitude also.

After a pleasant break here, trek continues on the trail to Langtang and its beautiful valley, the walk for an hour is pleasant in the cool shade of alpine woodland, after a small stream leaving the tree line behind the path leads uphill for an hour, then walk gets better on gradual trail with few ups and down to Langtang village for overnight stop.

Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa 3,749 m - 04 hours.
From Langtang village walk on nice path and then on uphill trail for few hours following “mani-prayer wall” where walking clockwise direction a positive way in respect to Buddhist religion, walk leads further east as the valley opens up with views of snow capped peaks.

After few hours of gentle walk with views brings you at Kyanjin Gompa a charming and scenic spot with beautiful views of Langtang Lirung of above 7,000m and its icefall at close distance Kyanjin Gompa, surrounded by a ridge formed by glacial moraine of rocks and boulders.

Day 07: Rest day for acclimatization and for hike around.
At leisure, a well deserved rest day here visit a small Cheese factory or walk up to Tsego-Ri or Kyngin Ri at above 4,700 m / 15,420ft which will add more heights of this adventure offers stunning panorama of snow capped mountains.

Day 08: Trek to Lama Hotel 2, 350 m - 06 hrs.
After a wonderful time at Kyanjin, retrace the journey back on same route to Lama-Hotel a small settlement in the midst of the forest at the bank of upper Trisuli River.

Day 09: Trek to Upper / Thulo Syabru village 2,118m -06 hrs.
The trek today follows the same route for an hour, then after the bridge the walk is pleasant through the rain and bamboo forest, after leaving the river way down below, the climb starts uphill through the landslide bit of rocks and boulders, passing through farm terraces to Upper Syabru is reached also called Thulo Syabru means bigger, the village with row of houses located on a ridge with a monastery.

Day 10: Trek to Singh Gompa 3,254m or Chandanbari - 05 hrs.
Morning walk leads uphill on winding path above the monastery and then gaining more height facing views of Ganesh-Himal, Manaslu, Langtang and Annapurna range towards far west, after a few refreshing stops at teahouses on route, journey continues with an hour uphill from the farmlands and into cool alpine forest and then reaching at Sing Gompa for overnight stop near its old monastery.            

Day 11: Trek to Gosainkund 4,381 m - 05 hrs.
The trek today offers more views of snow clad peaks of Langtang to the north and Ganesh-Himal range towards north west along with Manaslu and Annapurna range, walk leads to gradual up for an hour entering oaks, pines and rhododendron forest, after a brief stops with grand views, walk continues on uphill trail leaving tree lines and green vegetation behind for dwarf rhododendron, juniper and alpine shrubs bushes.

The path unwinds uphill passing through few teahouses at Laurabina, means a place with walking sticks, (on auspicious time in August with full moon as per the Nepali Luna calendar, the pilgrims visits Gosainkund pond for ritual bathe and dip belief it delivers one into paradise and drink of its holy water relinquishes the sins of a hundred lifetimes) Hindu pilgrims leaves their walking stick here so the name Laurabina.

From here short descend and up reaching across Saraswati and Bhiarav kund after a small climb brings you to our overnight stop at Gosainkund near its pristine pond. Here you can see lots of traces left behind by the pilgrims.

Day 12: Trek to Ghopte Odar 3,566m via Gosainkund pass or Laurabina-La 4,609 m.
From Gosainkund a gradual walk on a small path along pond, and then climb near a small creek in between rocks and boulders, as the walk leads close to a small pond of Surjakund the trail here is more gradual with winding up to Gosainkund pass or East Laurabina La the highest spot of the adventure.

After the top, a long descend to Phedi (bottom) at 3,694 m few teahouses, a possible lunch stop and then our journey continues east towards Helambu region and back into green vegetations of junipers, rhododendron and then reaching at Ghopte (meaning overhanging rocks) for overnight stop.

Day 13: Trek to Kutumsang 2,445m via - 06 hrs.
After walking around complete wilderness, walk from here trails joins of Helambu and Kathmandu; trek is pleasant into forest for an hour, with an hour uphill to Tharepati 3,597m.
A nice spot situated on a ridge overlooking views of peaks with Jugal Himal range and Ganesh-Manaslu towards west.

From here descent to Mangeghot, a nice place with grassy field, with an Nepal Army Barrack from here walking back into farm fields and to Kutumsang for overnight stop, this village with Sherpa, Hyalmo and Tamang hill tribes.

Day 14: Trek to Gul Bhanjyang 2,125m - 06 hrs.
From here on winding trail with up and down walks past farm terraces and villages most of the way till Gul-Bhanjyang is reached for overnight stop, an active farm village located on a top ridge.

Day 15: Trek to Chisapani Danda 2,195m - 05 hrs.
Walk from here leading on pleasant trail past farm villages to reach at a nice Pati Bhanjayang village, from this village with short climb to our last overnight stop at Chisopani danda,  a lovely and scenic spot close to Kathmandu located on the rim of Kathmandu Valley.

Chisapani, a picturesque spot offers fantastic view of Jugal Himal range in the north east and Ganesh Himal-Manaslu and Annapurna range towards west with stunning sunrise and sunset view also.

Day 16: Walk to Sundarijal 1,380m and drive to Kathmandu.
The last day of this beautiful journey, leads through serene forest and farmlands after a few hours of gradual walk and at the top ridge of Burlang and Chepu Bhanjyang at 2,438 m high with views of Kathmandu Valley, from here descend to Sundarijal (meaning beautiful water) a lovely spot with cool patch of forest with monkeys and fresh streams.

From Sundarijal small town drive back to Kathmandu after an enjoyable and great moment on Langtang & Gosainkund trekking, as the drive leads past Jhorpati and Bouddhanath following the busy city road for some times and then back to your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 17: In Kathmandu free day with sightseeing tour.
Nepal Holiday Organizer allows a free day for you to enjoy time in Kathmandu or join in our interesting tour around Kathmandu-Patan and Bhaktapur cities.

Day 18: International departure for home ward bound.
After a most memorable experience on Langtang & Gosainkund trekking with fabulous views of Central Himalaya, our staff transfers you to the airport for your final departure homeward bound.
