Nepal Holiday Organizer unveils a beautiful and overwhelming adventure on ‘Tent Peak Climbing’ with Annapurna Base Camp and Sanctuary Trekking. A unique trekking and great climb in the heart of world tenth highest mountains Mt. Annapurna at 8,091 m truly a magnificent place to be where you will be encircled by amphitheatre of snow-clad peaks.

Tent Peak also locally known as Tharpu Chuli with an altitude of 5,663 m and 18,575 ft high peak, the name as tent was christened by early pioneers and explorer when visited around this beautiful sanctuary in early 1960’ by Col. Jimmy Edward as the peak looked with a shape of a tent with its rocky face and ice on its summit top.

Tent Peak official named Tharpu Chuli as listed in NMA (Nepal Mountaineering Association) a tough and technical peak to climb the grade as PD + means ‘Peu Difficile’ of some technical efforts and difficulties with walk on glaciers and ice fields, the grade classified from French and Swiss Alpine Climbing System.

Although a peak of below 6,000 m beckons adventurer and climb as a challenge to climb to its steep rocky summit where you can marvel sweeping views of whole of Annapurna range of mountains, and feeling on top of the world and in Great Spirit certainly an adventure of a life time experience.

Tent Peak climbing adventure starts and ends at scenic Pokhara, where our walk leads into high rolling green hills and visiting cultural Gurung villages of Ghandruk-Chomrong and then within deep forested areas and deep gorge of Modi River and then reaching at magnificent and awesome Annapurna Sanctuary and base camp.

Our adventure leads beyond Annapurna base camp for the climb of Tent Peak where our expert guides will leads you to the top and safely back, after an adventurous and adrenaline Tent Peak climbing, return journey via an alternative route to Pokhara visiting Landruk-Tolka and Potana village and then finally completing Tent Peak Climbing on reaching at Pokhara and back in Kathmandu.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu 1,315m and transfer o hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 820m (220 k.m) – 06hrs.
Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (trek point) with 4 hrs trek to Ghandruk 1,940m.
Day 05: Trek to Chomrong village at 2,170m – 06 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,600 m via Bamboo 2,310 – 06 hrs.
Day 07: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 via Deurali 3,200 m – 05 hrs.
Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m – 03 hrs with free afternoon.
Day 09: Trek to Tent peak base camp 4,450 m – 05 hrs.
Day 10: Trek to high camp 5,200 m – 05 hrs.
Day 11:  Climb Tent Peak and return to base camp – 08 hrs.
Day 12:  Spare and contingency day in case of unfavorable weather on climb.
Day 13: Trek back to Annapurna Base Camp – 04 hrs.
Day 14: Trek back to Bamboo 2,310 m – 06 hrs.
Day 15: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot-spring) 1,780 m – 05 hrs.
Day 16: Trek to Potana 1,800 m via Landruk – 06 hrs.
Day 17: Walk to Kande 1,770 m via Australian camp and drive to Pokhara.
Day 18: Drive back to Kathmandu on tourist bus and transfer to your hotel.
Day 19: Final International departure homeward bound.

Details Itinerary

Day 01: Reach Kathmandu after your international flight.
On arrival in Kathmandu received by Nepal Holiday Organizer staff and guide for short drive to your hotel in the hub of Kathmandu city, where you will join with other members of Tent Peak Climb and Annapurna Base Camp Trekking, where our guide will brief with information regarding trek and climb - hotels-culture with do’s and don’ts, includes welcome dinner in a nice and typical Nepali restaurant with culture programs.

Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour at places of interest.
Morning after breakfast our tour guide will receive you for sightseeing tour around interesting part of Kathmandu, as Kathmandu city a blend of modernization and old lively cultures where you can witness medieval period villages and way of life of the locals as it was for past hundreds of years. Kathmandu valley steeped with ancient history-old traditions full of world heritage sites of Buddhism and Hinduism temples / monasteries. After an interesting tour afternoon free at leisure preparation for Annapurna Base Camp Trekking and Tent Peak Climb.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara 860m - 06 hrs journey.
Tent Peak Climb adventure starts with an interesting morning drive to Pokhara with mountain views and in great contrast of rolling green hills and valleys, journey leads through many towns and villages following the glacial river Trisuli till to the town of Mugling where the road to Pokhara, on leaving Mugling town heading towards west to Pokhara on reaching Pokhara transfer to respective hotels with afternoon free at leisure with short walk around Phewa Lake side.

Day 04: Drive to Nayapul (trek point) with 4 hrs trek to Ghandruk 1,940m.
Morning a short drive of two hours to Nayapul to begin our trek passing lovely Bhirethati village located by Modi River, from here walk through farm villages coming across trekkers, mules and donkey trains, our route leads to farm areas and villages, waterfalls then reaching at Syali Bazaar area. From here uphill on stone steps to Kimche village and with gradual climb to Ghandruk for overnight halt in a nice lodge after a pleasant day walks of few hours.
Ghandruk village with views of Annapurna South, Huinchuli and towering Mt. Machhapuchare “ Fish Tail” Ghandruk a large Gurung village, famous as Gorkha soldiers in UK and Indian armies, besides as gallant soldiers they are farmers and Sheppard’s of Tibetan Buddhist religion and origin.

Day 05: Trek to Chomrong village at 2,170m - 06 hrs.
After a lovely morning with views our second day walk leads above Ghandruk village and then with steep climb to Kimrong danda (ridge) for an hour, here with short stop downhill into pristine forest to reach a lovely Kimrong valley. Probably with lunch break, afternoon an uphill climb to reach towards Chomrong village.

Climb leads through terraced farm areas after an hour uphill reaching a level path with stone paved, a gradual walk leads at the top of Chomrong with short descend to reach the main Chomrong village for overnight stop.

This is a large and last permanent Gurung village before Annapurna base camp, the places on route from Chomrong are temporary settlement to cater the need of trekkers with lodge and guest houses all the way to Annapurna base camp.

Day 06: Trek to Dovan 2,600 m via Bamboo 2,310 - 06 hrs.
Morning walk downhill to a river, then crossing a short bridge heading up to reach at Sinuwa at 2,360 m high, a lonely spot with few shops and nice lodges walk from here leads into cool forested area of oaks-rhododendron and pines trees and then a short steep descend to Bamboo a small settlement with 5-6 lodges surrounded by bamboo trees, on Modi River gorge.

After Bamboo an hour or more of slow climb brings at Dovan for overnight stop located within Modi River Gorge with couple of lodge for overnight stay.

Day 07
: Trek to Machhapuchare Base Camp 3,700 via Deurali 3,200 m - 05 hrs.
After a nice overnight stop at Dovan with the sound of raging Modi River, morning walk leads higher through thick forested area reaching at Himalaya Hotel located beneath Huichuli peak and large overhanging Hinko Cave. From downhill by the Modi River crossing ablation of old avalanches of rocky moraine, then a short climb brings at Deurali after leaving the gorge area to more wide open area. From Deurali after lunch stop heading higher leaving the tree lines behind following the raging glacial Modi River all the way to Machhapuchare base camp at 3,700 m high for overnight stop, located beneath towering North Face of the Fish Tail Mountain.

Day 08: Trek to Annapurna Base Camp 4,130 m - 03 hrs with free afternoon.
Finally our walk this morning leads into famous and picturesque Annapurna Sanctuary where Annapurna BC located.  MBC the starting point of the sanctuary, as the walk leads higher ground for few hours and then entering the sanctuary with amphitheatre of peaks that surrounds this amazing place.

After few hours of pleasant walk brings you to the highest spot of this adventure at Annapurna base camp with 4,130 meters elevation.

Afternoon enjoy and relax with the views of Annapurna I (8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft), including to Mt. Machhapuchare (Fish-tail) at 6,790 m stretches up towards Tent Peak / Tharpu Chuli and Fluted Peaks or Singu Chuli.

Day 09: Trek to Tent peak Base Camp 4,450 m - 05 hrs.

Morning heading towards our main highlight and destination for the climb of Tent Peak, as the peak looking from the sanctuary and base camp certainly looks like a rocky tent with little snow on the top, due to its sheer rocky and ice slopes, this peak as well called Tharpu Chuli by the locals.

Walk leads towards the Annapurna glacier and heading with a climb over snow covered moraine rocky path, and climb on icy trail for few hours to Tent peak base camp, first night in tents with camping facilities of cook, kitchen staffs and guides, afternoon relax and enjoy the views with time to prepare for the next day climb of Tent peak.

Day 10: Trek to High Camp 5,200 m - 04 hrs.

It is always best to have one more extra camps, as this peak is quite technical although it is not a 6,000 meters high, but tough to tackle this peak, morning walk towards more rocky and glacier, and then a few short up to reach a small clearing beneath the towering Tent peak, after setting the camp join our expert guide to inspect the route of climb for neat early morning climb.

Day 11: Climb Tent Peak summit and return to Base Camp - 08 hrs.

Our main adventure destination starts before dawn as the climb leads over moraine and rubble of ice falls, following the route set by our lead guide reaching high above on an ill defined ridge towards last snow slope, most of the climb involves walking roped together, including the glacial crossings.

As everyone should be fit and have good attitude on this climb as it leads to a quite steep rock and ice ridge, with some technical sections on route to Tent Peak summit, after a final big haul with great help and support of our expert guide. On reaching the summit take a rest and admire the beautiful panorama of whole Annapurna Mountains and towards north and west Chulu range with Dhaulagiri peaks as well view of Manaslu towards east horizon, after a great moment in the highest spot of this adventure descent by same route to base camp.

Day 12: Reserve day in case of bad weather condition on climb.

A spare or contingency and reserve day in case of bad unusual weather situations, an important to have extra day which helps to maintain the itinerary days and for safe climb, if all goes well as per the designated itinerary days our guide will make the decision after informing all, how and where this spare can be used before or after Chomrong on route Pokhara.

Day 13: Trek back to Annapurna Base Camp - 04 hrs.
After a wonderful time on the summit of Tent or Tharpu Chuli and feeling high with great experience of a life time, an easy walk through moraine, ice and glaciers criss crossing smaller streams and the then a last climb back to Annapurna base camp in the comfort of a cozy nice lodge, with afternoon free to relax and marvel the beautiful snow peaks that surround this place.

Day 14: Trek back to Bamboo 2,310 m - 06 hrs.
After a memorable and enjoyable moment at base camp within Annapurna Sanctuary retrace the journey back with more downhill walks and then back into tree lines with few short ups to reach at Bamboo for overnight stop.

Day 15: Trek to Jhinu Danda (hot-spring) 1,780 m - 05 hrs.
From Bamboo leaving the Modi River and the gorge behind climb up to Khuldi-Ghar into forested area, and then a short gradual walk to Sinuwa danda, from here descend to Chomrong River, and then climb on steps to Chomrong for lunch stop.

After Chomrong a short climb to the top ridge and then changing our direction from here with an alternative route to reach Pokhara, a short downhill walk brings at scenic and lovely Jhinu village for overnight stop, located on a ridge top with views of surrounding landscapes and rolling green hills. A short descend of 25 minutes reaches you at hot-spring by the Modi River.

Day 16: Trek to Potana 1,800 m via Landruk - 06 hrs.
After nice break at Jhinu village morning walk downhill on stone steps reaching at another Nayapul (New Bridge), from here on crossing a long suspension bridge, a short climb to reach another large village at Landruk.  After a short rest with commanding views walk is easier on winding trails with few short and up and down to reach at Tolka village with grand views of Annapurna South and Huinchuli.

From here on gradual trail with few short ups and down, passing village Bheda Kharka, and then an hour or less climb into cool forest to reach at Pitam Deurali at 2,100 meters high, offering grand views of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, Huinchuli, Mt. Machhapuchare and of Ghandruk village.

 From Deurali downhill through forest to Potana village for last overnight stop on the high hills of Annapurna.

Day 17: Walk to Kande 1,770 m via Australian camp and drive to Pokhara.
Morning catching fantastic views of snowcapped peaks, continue our last day walk into cool forest with last uphill to Thulo Kharka known as Australian Camp, a scenic and pristine spot located on a large meadows with parallel views of Annapurna and Manaslu range of mountains.

Our final walk of this adventure leads downhill to road head at Kande village for the drive back at picturesque Pokhara by the serene Phewa Lake after an hour of exciting drive.

Day 18: Morning drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel.
After an enjoyable and great adventure on Tent Peak Climb with Annapurna Base Camp Trekking, return drive back to Kathmandu on the same route past Pokhara and Damuli following Trisuli River for some times and then back at your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 19: International departure for home ward bound.
After a most memorable experience on Annapurna Base Camp Trekking and adventure on top Tent Peak Climb with fabulous views of Annapurna Himalaya, our staff transfers you to the airport for your final departure homeward bound.
